This needle felted mouse features vintage glass taxidermy eyes Heather purchased from an antiques shop in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The mouse construction has a wire armature and solid wool core (no styrofoam or poly fillers). The tiny feet are wire wrapped with wool. The whiskers are horsehair. The top coat, or fur, is a custom blend of alpaca, silk, merino, and Corriedale. A layering technique was used for the top coat where tiny tufts of fiber were applied in a shingle pattern and sculpted with scissors and felting needle. The mouse measures 8 inches from tail to nose tip. The body is 5 inches long. It stands 2.75 inches tall at the head.
