A mischievous black cat balances atop a vintage wooden spool of thread playing with it’s toy—a shiny sun charm—that dangles below.

The needle-felted cat is built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The top coat—or fur—is a custom blend of goat angora, silk, and, alpaca fibers. The eyes are wool and whiskers are horsehair. The vintage wooden spool with its thick carpet thread, was an estate sale find from an old home in rural New Hampshire. The cat is permanently secured to the spool. A metal sun charm dangles from the thread held tight from the cat’s mouth. Measures 6.5 tall including the tail. The spool is 2 inches tall.
