This needle-felted praying mantis is built over a sturdy wire armature with and a wool core. Its green topcoat is a custom blend of Romney and Corriedale wool. Each leg is wire wrapped with wool thread. The wings are made from recycled silk sari ribbon. Antennae are fine wire. The green eyes are glass beads that catch the light. Like real praying mantis, it’s head can be carefully rotated 180 degrees for display purposes.
