This needle felted 3D mouse and lady bug make their home in a beautiful vintage frame. The footed brushed-brass frame, that once displayed a spray of dried flowers , was found deep in a draw, long forgotten. Heather removed the faded, decayed flowers and added an adobe-colored silk velvet background. The original border is concave and painted a lovely matte robin’s egg blue. The glass cover is convex. The needle felted mouse has a solid wool core and a custom blend of topcoat fibers including cashmere, shetland, and gotland. The eyes are wool with a hint of reflective iridescent sparkle. The whiskers are horsehair. The tiny toes are wire wrapped with wool and secured with beeswax to create claws. The lifesize ladybug is hand-carved and painted.
