You never know where a cheeky little wren will make its nest!
In this piece, there are three enchanting layers. At the bottom is an antique tin cup found by Heather during one of her many antiques jaunts. In the middle is a bird’s nest found abandoned on a New Hampshire property by Heather’s sister. And finally, on top sits a needle felted wren nestled comfortably in the nest. The felted wren has a wire armature and a solid wool core. The top coat is a custom blend of fibers including Romney, Corriedale, silk, and cashmere, The eyes and beak are wool. The piece is 5 inches tall at the tail tip. The cup is 4 inches wide including the handle. Both the nest and wren are permanently secured to the cup. Signed on the bottom.
