This hare has an old world charm as it sits alert fixed atop a vintage naturalistic base purchased at Brimfield. The hare is built over a wire armature and has a solid wool core. The top coat, or fur, is made from a custom blend of long fiber including alpaca, merino, and Corriedale. The fibers were applied using a shingle technique where small tufts were applied in a layered pattern and trimmed with scissors to sculpt. The eyes and nose are also wool. The whiskers are horsehair. Accents of dyed locks suggest the hare is sitting among heath and moss. The entire piece, including base is 5.5 inches tall. Signed on the base underside.
