A swan and her cygnet float gracefully on an early 20th century rosewood base.

The mini vignette includes a swan gazing at her cygnet while floating peacefully on a Lilly pond supported by a lotus motif finely carved wood base. The swans have a wire armature and a solid wool core. The top coat is a blend of alpaca, merino, silk, and luster. The swan’s eyes are glass beads. The pond has an internal wire armature that gives the piece stability and a custom shape that fits securely and precisely into the antique base. This construction was chosen to maintain the pristine condition of the base. Four wet felted lily pads (two front, two back) with embroidered accents appear to float on the water. Signed.

The base measures 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Together the with the swan, the piece overall measures 4.5 inches tall.
