A whimsical cottontail fits snuggly into a vintage lusterware creamer.

This needle felted cotton was made to precisely fit into a vintage lusterware creamer found at an antique/vintage store in Rowley, Massachusetts. The creamer is a pale butter color with a leaf motif and pale rose-pink luster accents. The rabbit has a wire armature and solid wool core. The top coat is a custom blend of fiber including silk, alpaca, Corriedale, and romney. The long top coat fibers were applied in small tufts in a layered arrayed then sculpted with scissors and felting needles. This time-consuming process results in a more natural looking pelt. The eye are vintage taxidermy glass eyes found in the Windham Antiques Center in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The whiskers are horsehair. The portion of the rabbit that’s inside the creamer is finished to completion with the top coat fibers and white tail. This is not a toy and only an occasional peek at it’s cute backside is recommended to help maintain the integrity of the overall piece. Measures 6 inches tall at the ear tips and 7 inches from ear tips to handle.
