Nimble and active, three needle felted chipmunks emerge from a real tree hole; one ready to reach for the ground, another feasts on a blueberry while the third looks one with curiosity.
These needle felted chipmunks are permanently secured to the tree hope. Each are life-size, built over a wire armature, and have solid wool core. The fiber is a custom blend of fibers including alpaca, angora rabbit, corriedale, and romney. These fibers were applied in a layered array of tiny tufts and sculpted with felting needles and scissors resulting in a natural pelt. Fine details include hand carved and painted claws, wool eyes with a hint of iridescent reflective fiber, and horsehair whiskers. The eyes are wool.
