Needlefelted American Oystercatcher

Needlefelted American Oystercatcher

The boldly colored American Oystercatcher can be found on the Atlantic and Gulf shores. It uses its chisel-like bill to break open the shell of the bivalves they primarily eat (mussels, oysters, clams).

This needelfelted American Oystercatcher is made from 100% wool over a wire armature and fixed to an oyster shell. The tiny talons are made with beeswax. It measures 4.5 inches tall and 6.26 inches from bill tip to tail tip.

This is not a toy and not intended for young children.
